My First 3 months at FXC Intelligence
This week, I sat down with Lily Jennings, one of our Data Analysts, to discuss her first three months at FXC Intelligence and learn more about her experience.

What was your onboarding experience like at FXC?
Stepping into my role as a Data Analyst at FXC was both exciting and nerve-wracking (as with any new job!), but the onboarding process made the transition smooth and stress-free. From day one, I had access to plenty of useful resources and documentation, making it easy to get started. Whenever I needed any help understanding something, my colleagues were more than happy to help. What stood out the most was the emphasis on understanding the business before jumping into technical work. I had the opportunity to meet one-on-one with the leads from each team, which not only helped me see the bigger picture but also made me feel valued, knowing that even the busiest people took the time to welcome me.
What has been the most surprising or exciting part of your experience at FXC so far?
What’s surprised me the most is how connected and close-knit the company feels, even though so many people work remotely. You’d think a mostly remote setup would make it harder to build relationships, but FXC does an amazing job at keeping that sense of community alive. The socials are always a highlight – we recently went to an F1 simulator, which was very fun. The monthly socials strike the perfect balance: just frequent enough to reconnect with people outside of work but not overwhelming. It’s clear that FXC puts a real effort into maintaining a strong and engaging culture, no matter where people are working.
What have been the biggest things you’ve learnt or achieved in the first three months?
In the first few weeks, my focus was on understanding FXC’s data structure, particularly on the ingest side. My first major project involved building a dashboard to help the team quickly identify and troubleshoot issues within the data. It was a great way to get hands-on experience while also contributing to something that would have a real impact on the team’s workflow.
How would you describe the company culture in your own words?
As I mentioned, FXC prioritises personal connections and collaboration, and that extends to learning and development as well. We have weekly training sessions that cover topics like managing stress and AI advancements, providing valuable insights beyond just technical skills. It’s refreshing to be in an environment where continuous growth is genuinely encouraged. The supportive culture also stood out—being paired with a buddy from a different team made settling in much easier, and colleagues were always happy to help, whether with work or just grabbing lunch on office days.
If you could give any advice to a new starter, what would it be?
Don’t be afraid to ask questions! FXC has a culture where people are happy to help, so take advantage of that. Also, take the time to understand the bigger picture – learning how different teams work together will help you contribute more effectively. Lastly, get involved in the social aspects of the company, whether it’s training sessions, team lunches or just simply heading into the office. It makes settling in much easier and helps you build connections beyond your immediate team.
