The Content Team at FXC Intelligence
The Content team is all about delivering just that: content! From our industry-leading newsletter to PR to building out our social media presence, our team is all about raising the profile of FXC Intelligence as the knowledge leader in cross-border payments and ultimately generating leads for the company.
Lucy Ingham - Head of Content and Editor-In-Chief
Who is 'Lucy' at FXC?
I am Head of Content and Editor-In-Chief, which means my job is to oversee all editorial and content output we produce as a company. That includes our newsletter, which is the most-read in cross-border payments, as well as regular reports, features and other analysis, and all marketing output we produce as a company.
This is a vast area that requires me to keep up-to-date with all the goings on in the industry, as well as our development as a company, and manage the wider content team. I have to maintain a really strong knowledge of the space, and juggle multiple projects at once, so my days can be very varied – one day I might be wearing a data journalism hat to put together a unique report, while another day I could be speaking to journalists about the industry as well as analysing ways we can more effectively reach potential customers.
It’s a busy role but I love the variation and the opportunities to stretch myself.
What do you do outside of your 9-5?
Outside of my job, I love cinema of all forms – I regularly attend both new releases at the local Odeon as well as classic screenings at the BFI in London. I’m also a regular gym go-er, a big reader of sci-fi and an avid player of Dungeons & Dragons. I have been playing in one campaign for more than five years and started GMing another last year.
If you were to host a dinner party and could invite two guests, dead or alive - who would it be?
The first would be the late great Terry Pratchett, because his wit and insight would be welcome at any table, and the second would be Lana Wachowski so I can discuss her amazing work and view of the world.
Joe Baker - Senior Copywriter
Who is 'Joe' at FXC?
As a Senior Copywriter, I research and write content for FXC’s website and weekly newsletter. This includes everything from shorter pieces – project roundups, discussion of trends or earnings call analysis – to in-depth reports, such as this piece about how payments work on TikTok.
I also attend industry conferences, conduct interviews, and perform SEO analysis to find out which payments-related topics that people are searching for online.
At FXC, we make every story unique and purposeful by using our own data or conducting extensive research. Funnily enough, a large amount of my time isn’t spent actually writing, but on putting together datasets, which inform unique graphics that tell a story at a glance. Analysing the data is the most interesting bit, as I get to share perspectives and insight that I know for a fact can’t be found anywhere else.
What do you do outside of your 9-5?
I’m an avid runner, having now completed two ultra marathons (and hungry to do more!). I also enjoy musicals, video games, and playing golf at a wildly inconsistent standard.
If you were to host a dinner party and could invite two guests, dead or alive - who would it be?
Tricky question – I’d probably say Charlie Brooker, the writer of Black Mirror, because the articles he used to write for The Guardian are a big part of why I got into writing in the first place.
For my second pick I’m gonna go with Emily Maitlis. She’s an incredible journalist with an endless well of stories to tell – the perfect dinner party guest.
Rio Edey - Social Media Executive
Who is 'Rio' at FXC?
As Social Media Executive, I manage the company social media presence and generate content to post externally via our social media platforms.
I work closely with our People team, developing campaigns to enable us to reach a wide audience and attract the right talent for open roles. I also spend a lot of time planning
What do you do outside of your 9-5?
I have been involved with a local cheerleading club for the last 10 years, which I now help run with my best friend. I have been coaching for 9 years and have also recently completed my ICU Judging course!
The majority of my free time is taken up by admin, or choreographing routines - but when I am not in 'cheer mode' I love going on weekends away, and taking my little pup Murphy to explore new places!
If you were to host a dinner party and could invite two guests, dead or alive - who would it be?
I have a long list of people who I would love to invite, however, I would have to say Coco Chanel because she is just a fashion icon and Meryl Streep because I am obsessed with Mamma Mia!
Callum Tyndall - Senior Sub-Editor
Who is 'Callum' at FXC?
I'm the senior sub-editor, meaning it's my job to make sure any and all written content produced by the company (whether for internal or external use) is up to standard and meets our style guide. In the day-to-day, this mostly involves reviewing the content for our weekly newsletter, but my tasks can also extend to preparing that same content, assisting with research or assessing ideas for possible future content.
What do you do outside of your 9-5?
Quite a few movies, quite a bit of gaming (both board games and video games), reading. Plus a weekly DnD game.
If you were to host a dinner party and could invite two guests, dead or alive - who would it be?
Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
Kezia Johnson - Senior Communications Executive
Who is 'Kez' at FXC?
I'm the Senior Communications Executive at FXC Intelligence. I have three main workstreams:
- External communications - I develop and run the press release strategy. This involves strategically planning press releases that will demonstrate our insight, expertise and the great work we're doing as a company, as well as the writing and publication of each press release - check them out here! https://www.fxcintel.com/media-resources
- Media relations - I build relationships with journalists interested in cross border payments and secure coverage for the company. This involves a lot of stakeholder management, staying on top of trends in the news and identifying where we can add value to coverage.
- Recognition - I secure awards and speaking slots for the company. Throughout the year I pitch our fantastic ambassadors to the industry's top events with the aim of securing speaker invitations. I also showcase our achievements as a company to award programmes. This involves writing a lot of applications and meeting with the people running events and awards.
What do you do outside of your 9-5?
You can usually find me reading fantasy books, competing in the local pub quiz or watching the Real Housewives franchise.
If you were to host a dinner party and could invite two guests, dead or alive - who would it be?
Steve Irwin can share crocodile tales while Kris Jenner shares the inside scoop on Hollywood's own animal kingdom, where the Kardashians are the apex predators! I think they will bring a unique combination of humour, business savvy and sense of adventure to the dinner party.
